Bethnal Green Library 100 Years Celebrations

bethnal green 100 years logo

Bethnal Green Library celebrates its 100th anniversary this year and to celebrate this, we will be planning to run events during 2022 to celebrate its centenary.

We will hold author talks, art events and other activities to show the outstanding impact Bethnal Green Library has given to our community over the last 100 years.

memory box
A Memory Box has been set up and would love to hear from you on the wonderful memories that Bethnal Green Library has given to you.

Your Memory could be a book that changed your life, a staff member you remember or just that the library gave you fond and unforgettable memories.

The Memory Box is a real or virtual box so you can either leave your memory at Bethnal Green Library or email neal.smith@towerhamlets.gov.uk. We will then post your memory on to our Bethnal Green Centenary page here.

If you have photos of the library, an old library card or even a library book then please take a photo and we will add to the website. (You will not incur late fines!)

Later in the year Kate Thompson will be talking about her new book “The Little Wartime Library” at Bethnal Green Library as part of the 100 anniversary celebrations – Free tickets will be available on Eventbrite nearer the time
