Title Deeds User Guide
Are you interested in expanding the sources you use for archival research? This guide explains how you can use title deeds for family and local history. We hold extensive deed collections dating back to the seventeenth century. These documents record the transfer of land or property between individuals. They include personal names, dates, the costs involved and sometimes plans or maps of a local area. Download this guide to find out how to access this rich and under-used collection!
The guide is published by Tower Hamlets Local History Library & Archives. It is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of the 'Land and Lives' project. Hard copies are available on request.
