Improvement Works at Idea Store Canary Wharf
Exciting changes are underway!
We're creating a new and improved children's library, adding more study space and improving facilities at Idea Store Canary Wharf. Thank you for your patience during this upgrade – it will be worth the wait!
The main Idea Store Canary Wharf is now closed for refurbishment but a very limited service is provided from a temporary location next door (The former Post Office).
Cubitt Town Library will be open extra hours on Fridays during the refurbishment.10 am-6 pm (closed between 1 and 2 pm).
PLEASE NOTE: Because of the works RESERVES will not be available to pick up at Idea Store Canary Wharf. You will be given an alternative pick-up location. This will go back to normal when works are finished.
This project will be split into three phases:
Phase 1: Creation of new Children’s Library
The first phase of construction will take place in the old Post Office unit next door, where a new and improved Children's Library is being created. While the work is underway, there may be some noise disruption, but all library services will continue as normal.
Phase 2: Refurbishment of Idea Store
In the second phase, the main Idea Store building will be closed.

- Storytime will go ahead but all other events and activities will be postponed
- limited opening hours
Phase 3: Reopening of Idea Store Canary Wharf
The final phase will see the completion of the works and the reopening of the newly refurbished Idea Store Canary Wharf with improved facilities. More details will be provided as the work progresses.
