16 Days of Activism
The Global 16 Days Campaign is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs every year from 25th November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day.
Idea Stores are running a number of events in our locations:
Hear Me Out Women’s Group
Idea Store Whitechapel
Date: Tuesday 26 November, Tuesday 3 December and Tuesday 10 December
Time: 11am – 12pm
Hear Me Out is an inclusive, informal space for women of all ages to come together to build friendships and share experiences. Our aim is to build a community of women that support and encourage each other to be our best selves.
Book Group: ‘It Ends With Us’ by Coleen Hoover
Bethnal Green Library
Date: Thursday 28 November
Time: 6pm-7pm
It Ends with Us is a romance novel by Colleen Hoover. Based on the relationship between her mother and father, Hoover described it as "the hardest book I've ever written". It explores themes of domestic violence and emotional abuse.
You don’t have to have read the book or watched the film, however feel free to pick up a copy of the book from Bethnal Green Library, if you wish to join the discussion.
Film Screening: Tish Murtha
Cubitt Town Library
Date: Thursday 5 December

The story of Photographer Tish Murtha and her turbulent life.
